VALERY SYUTKIN – STYLE FROM MOSCOW
In the bygone era, there were several examples of bands and singers who, for their time, became popular not by status, but by public perception. Valery Syutkin was lucky enough to be in this cohort of favorites – those who successfully combine solo performances with concerts as part of a collective. For almost four decades, the main intellectual of the stage Valery Syutkin and his team have earned the love of fans and now continue to delight them. The singer does not pursue a changeable fashion and does not try to comply with trends. His warm voice with confidential intonation became the key to the success of any Syutkin project, because he (as the famous song says) is what you need.
Russian with Polish and Jewish roots
Now Valery Syutkin is rarely seen at noisy parties and parties in show business, much more often he goes to jazz concerts. His videos do not beat the ratings of music channels, and on television they do not shoot PR programs about the details of his personal life. He does not need such customary fame, the singer Valery Syutkin is his viewer and listener – thinking and versed in real music.
Valery was born on March 22, 1958. A mixture of Polish-Jewish and Russian blood flows in Syutkin’s veins, since my mother’s grandmother moved to Moscow from the Odessa region, and her father is from Perm. Mom Bronislava Andreevna worked in a closed military research institute, and dad Milad Alexandrovich taught at the military engineering academy and was a prominent specialist in military underground construction. The young people got to know each other in a dance club, then a son was born in a newly-formed family, whose childhood passed under the watchful attention of grandmother – parents had to work hard.
Valery’s conscious love for music arose at the age of 11, and this moment clearly cut into the memory of young Syutkin. That day, he entered the room and saw on television a political review, the screen saver to which was the image of the Brooklyn Bridge, and the musical accompaniment was a song from the legendary band The Beatles. Of course, then Valery did not know this, but he told his parents that he would definitely learn to play this melody on the guitar. Since then, he began to work diligently on this instrument. singer Valery Syutkin Senior friends from the yard discouraged him from such a choice and offered to join their group as a drummer to perform at dance evenings. Valery succumbed to the persuasion and temporarily put aside his guitar in order to independently learn to play the drums. He practiced on cardboard boxes from under hats and empty metal coffee cans. This team of yard boys turned out to be the first in his musical career.
Parents encouraged his enthusiasm for music, because in their area there were a lot of hooligan punks, who traded with thefts and other petty crimes. The elder Syutkin did not want their son to follow the same path. Mom knew that Valery would not come home with a broken nose, because no one dared to touch the musicians who played at the dance evenings. But Valera himself took up creativity for a completely different purpose – he wanted to please the girls. At that time, it was the surest way to win the heart of beauty. It was easier than ever to impress a girl when you play forbidden rock and roll on a guitar.
The saving hobby of Valery Syutkin
At the age of 13, a young blow awaited young Syutkin – Valery’s parents divorced. Healed the guy with his favorite music to heal the emotional trauma. Without her, he could not imagine his life. Now he realizes that it was his work that helped him not to fall under the evil influence of the hooligan surroundings of the district. Although he himself was never a lover of fights and fist showdown. All summer after 8th grade, he worked in an electric goods store, and although legislation forbade teenage singer Valery Syutkin labor, his mother’s girlfriend persuaded the store’s director to add a guy for the summer instead, while she left for the resort. For three months, Syutkin earned as much as 270 rubles and was able to buy a drum kit. Of course, I had to buy second-hand Czech drums from speculators, because it was very difficult to find new high-quality equipment in those years. The instrument was tested for strength under the hits of the Led Zeppelin group.
Passion for music completely captured Valery. It even became a reason for school absenteeism, although before that Sutkin’s academic performance was at a very high level. It only saved that he read a lot and could get out on humanitarian subjects, but problems began with the exact sciences. As a result, the certificate of maturity was decorated with four “triples”.
With the acquisition of the drum kit, Valery’s financial dependence on his parents ended. He played dancing in his area and even performed with other guys in the neighborhood. This provided the young man with a good income, although it was not a profession. Free poets, artists and musicians were then considered parasites. To start a work book and not be known as a loafer.
